Auckland Mad Hatter's Pink Tea Party 30 September
The 2008 Tim Tam Pink Tea Party campaign kicked off with a wonderful celebrity event at Auckland's waterside venue The Wharf at Northcote Point. Guests tipped their hats, champagne glasses and tea cups and opened their wallets to give generously to a great cause. Spokesperson April Ieremia welcomed guests to the lovely venue overlooking a blustery and busy Auckland harbour where a fine time and delicious afternoon tea was enjoyed by all. Lively bidding at the auction raised over $2900 and kicked off the Tim Tam Pink Tea Party campaign in fine style! Pictured above, L to R are celebrities Candy Lane, April Ieremia, Kerre Woodham, Greer Robson and Katrina Hobbs.

We had our Pink Luncheon on the 1st October for the Women's Cancer Support Group in Hamilton. We decided to raise funds for the BCAC for the Step by Step kit and were very lucky to have Raewyn Calvert from BCAC to come and speak to us all and show us what the kit contained. We were impressed with the colour and content and are pleased we made this one of our projects. We hope members will "go forth" and raise more funds for the BCAC cause. We managed to raise $270. Thank you for allowing Raewyn to speak to us at this busy time for you all. A delightful lady whom we all enjoyed having with us. All the best for future fund raising.
And this note from BCAC's Raewyn Calvert ...
Today the Women’s Cancer Support Group from Hamilton launched themselves into Breast Cancer Awareness month with true style! I was privileged to be invited to join them for their ‘Pink Luncheon’ at which over 20 cancer survivors donned pink in support of BCACs’ Tim Tam Pink Tea Party campaign. I was delighted to be able to show them Step by Step – our new support pack – freshly launched on Sept. 30th in Auckland. With special prizes, spot prizes and a delicious selection of food we all had the chance to get to know each other and have many laughs along the way! After lunch the women were treated to a beautiful display of mosaic products, made by one of them along their cancer journey. Approximately $270 was raised to enable BCAC to continue it’s important work. Great work ladies!

The Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust organised a wonderful morning tea again this year to help kick off the Tim Tam Pink Tea Party campaign in the Bay of Plenty. Our thanks are extended to the team at Bravo Cafe in Tauranga for hosting a lovely event enjoyed by all. Thanks also to Julie Blake and her colleagues at BCSSTG for their kind support!

The IRD come to the party again!
This report from Stephanie Riordan-Edmonds,
Assistance Team Leader, IRD Takapuna Call Centre
I am pleased to announce that once again our Tim Tam Pink Tea Party in the Call Centre here in Takapuna was a great success. Staff dressed the office and themselves in as much Pink as possible- they baked and bought goodies to sell and we raffled off two lovely Pink gift boxes. The cheque for $511.40 is on it's way to your worthwhile cause, the rest of the building also raised $1038 for Breast Cancer charities as well. Our people always enjoy putting FUN into Fundraising!
A fabulous bake off!
This news from Genevieve Bourke
Last night I hosted an Arnott’s Tim Tam Pink Tea Party. The way we decided to fundraise money was to have a bake off. It was great, everyone put in a lot of effort and we managed to raise $250 amongst 12 people. Thanks for the party kit, it was very helpful – we put balloons on the letterbox and decorated the flat with the streamers, confetti and balloons. Everyone was very impressed and had a great evening. We can't wait to do it again!

Taking the Time……..to enjoy a good old fashioned morning tea!
Silver was polished, tea cups matched saucers AND plates, the table was set, and in true lady fashion pink dresses were worn! Celeste Moffat and her friends enjoyed a splendid 'high tea'!
Olivia Thomson and her office colleagues raise $200!
Just sending you a quick email to let you know that our morning tea was a great success. A couple of us ladies in the office did some baking and raffled off a bottle of wine. We asked everyone to bring a gold coin donation in exchange for morning tea and the raffle. We decorated the cafe table with the bits from our registration pack.

We raised $200 for our efforts for the BCAC. It will become a regular event at our office each year. Everyone had a great time while enjoying some home baking.
Waitarere Beach raises $200!
A Tim Tam Pink Party, hosted by Sue Ellis and Chris Walsh at Waitarere Beach on Saturday the 18th raised $200. Whilst the Horowhenua community had already helped raise funds for the Herceptin fight against Pharmac, the emphasis was on having fun in pink, dancing the night away and raising some money for BCAC. Special thanks go to Judi Ridout, from Graphic Prints who supplied the gorgeous jams and preserves that were given as prizes for the best dressed 'models' (thanks Anne and Wendy, pictured right).
Tickled Pink in the Waikato!
This report from Megan Robinson
With pink cupcakes, pink champagne and plenty of pink nail polishes- even on the brave boys-we weretickled pink this Saturday withour own Pink Tea Party.
Tim Tam Pinks were the popular treat of the party and went surprisingly well with champagne as well as the more traditional tea.
We gave away the pink box kits so women can host their own Pink Tea Par ty with their friends and dress up in pink. Hostesses and many of the guests wore something pink including feather boas, 1950s tea dresses and pink cowboy hats to get into the theme and girls gave pink manicures. Men in pink hula skirts helped host and a few even had their nails painted - for a good cause!
We had a donations box out and raised $246 but you could raise a lot more if you auctioned off some of the husbands.
The high tea was a social event for members of St Paul's church on camp at Totara Springs but also served to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition so BCAC can produce helpful packs of literature for women diagnosed.
The Waikato was looking very green here in Matamata, but it was good to get our pink bits out and bring a little bit of pink to Hobbiton.

The Pink Ladies: Cath Pittams, Rachel Harrison, Pearl Harper, Michelle Jensen, Liv Harper, Jeanette Neil and Megan Robinson get their pink bits out
Tea with the Jitterbugs!
Jitterbugs music group is held at Evans Road Community Church in Papamoa every Wednesday for preschoolers. So this week whilst everyone sang and danced around we raised $206.80c for Breast Cancer. Jitterbugs takings were kindly donated and our dress code was pink for the day! We had a pink morning tea and then auctioned off some Breast Cancer goodies such as pink diaries. To top it all off we had a collection pot for loose change!
We all had great fun and thank you to Pastor Kent, Michelle and all the jitterbugs gang for hosting the event and thank you to all parents, caregivers and little Jitterbuggers for taking part and being so generous.
Waikato Kindergarten Assoc. raises $311!
This from Catherine Glover.
Hi Breast Cancer Aotearoa Team!
Thanks for providing us with a fabulous reason to get together and socialize, dress up in a pretty pink fashion, eat colourful food not usually eaten and of course be able to raise funds towards the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition. We ran several raffles and were delighted with the support. We raised $311.00 from our raffles.
Pink Party and Pink Walk in Rotorua
This from Rebecca Lang
With the help of my mum and sister-in-law Kylie, we had our wonderful Tim Tam Pink Party on Saturday 18th, with everyone turning up in lots of pink - even the boys who ended up stealing the show! We had lots of awesome games with everyone participating and even a raffle and auction with a coupleof pink aprons that my mum made. (Brooke, pictured at right and soon to be 1 year old, in her party gear!). We all enjoyed plenty of pink food & pinkdrink and all in all had a brilliant afternoon while raising $280 for you! Then on Wednesday 29th, a few more of us made the effort and did it all over again for the Official Pink Walk in Rotorua. We had so much fun and it was great seeing the turnout and how many people made the effort and dressed in pink! With my husband (Arran) winning Best Dressed Male! Who would have thought, he even got a spot in the local paper to my delight! (pictured left to right Graeme, Arran, Kylie).
Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to get together with family and friends for such a brilliant cause!

Fabulous baking raises $304!
Julie Milligan reports on her office party:
We had fantastic day. Around 12 people volunteered their lovely baking skills and we then popped around our office at morning tea time to sell all the yummy pink cakes to our staff.
It's such a great idea and I hope it continues next year!
Never too young to party!
This report from Jane Pratley and daughter Sarah:
Last year I hosted my antenatal and Plunket Coffee Groups, and this year I hosted girlfriends for a baby shower! Given she was expecting a baby girl it was very apt to dress the house in pink, pull out my grandmother's 50 year-old pink tea set and make pink cupcakes for everyone!!! I am going to make it an annual event for Sarah (now 18mths) and I to host a pink tea party and donate to this very good cause, teaching Sarah not only the importance of donating bu t also of breast cancer.
Note from BCAC: you may remember last year's photo of Jane and wee Sarah (at right), one of our most popular party photos! Hasn't Sarah grown!
Megan Jones and her colleagues party it up in the library!
The HortResearch Library hosted afternoon tea on 24 October. Staff contributed fabulous baking, eats and raffle donations toraise funds for the BCAC.
Libby Burgess from BCAC & a Senior Scientist at HortResearch talked to us about what BCAC does and demonstrated the Step by Step support pack to us. We had so many raffle donations, we had 5 draws - and 4 happy people went off to enjoy the long weekend with a bottle of bubbly each. Our little pink piggy bank collected donations and we raised $154.90 for BCAC. Thanks to BCAC for the box of goodies and for giving us a good reason to make noise and party in the library!
Julie Moyle's pi nk tea party
Julie sent us some photos from her tea party and here's a couple. What a cake!
Katie and Angela Dwyer raise $400!
This was the second year that my Mum and I have held a tea party.
We invited lots of ladies over for an afternoon filled with fun games and lots of pink food, prizes and goody bags for all our guests!!
We had prizes for anyone who came dressed in pink, with major prizes for best dressed. Each person donated money at the start of the afternoon and we also sold raffle tickets for some really cute pink prizes. We also had pink prizes for a few games that we played, which included a quiz about things relating to boobs. We also had a memory game with a tray filled with 30 pink items and two ladies remembered them all!
We had a yummy pink afternoon tea and lots of pink champagne. All together we raised $400 and had a fantastic afternoon. We all think it is a great cause to support and hopefully we will keep holding parties!!!
