All About 'The Think Pink Partaay'
Following the success of the Putaruru Ball in December last year, self confessed party organisers Annie Waterworth, Anne White & Natalie Pompey are organising a massive fundraising event for 2008.
The date to mark on your calendar is Saturday 18th October for the Think Pink Partaay at the Putaruru Plaza, which will be joined to the District Services Club via a marquee. Kerre Woodham will MC the event.
Tickets cost just $50 and all monies raised from Think Pink will be donated to the Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust. With the inclusion of an incredible auction and raffle, a pink themed bonanza will be had by all and all proceeds will be donated to the Trust.
The Christmas Ball was a huge hit and the girls are aiming even higher, with whispers of celebrities and international prizes shrouded in clouds of secrecy. One thing that can be revealed is the generosity of South Waikato businesses so far.
The girls (pictured at right) laugh at their own admission of being "total control freaks" in the sense that they set a standard and pull out all the stops to ensure that it happens. Neither the girls nor their families have been affected by breast cancer but they enjoy organising top class events for the local community and raising money for a fantastic cause. "Why shouldn't we have a mind-blowing social function?" they say and have even made a short movie with a local young Putaruru girlwho has secondary bone cancer as a result of breast cancer.
Facilities are in place to receive donations and they are currently on track to raise over $100,000 from the event.
