Winter Series Information Evening - Rotorua Breast Cancer Trust

This free and informative event about breast cancer treatments has been organised by the Rotorua Breast Cancer Trust.

When: Thursday 28 July, 7-9 pm

Where: Millenium FIve Room, Millenium Hotel, 1270 Hinemaru St, Rotorua

Speakers: Dr Glenys Round will speak on Mepitel (a silicon dressing designed to reduce skin damage during radiation therapy), followed by Dr Anupam Modi who will discuss Recent Advances in breast cancer surgery.

Mepitel - Dr Glenys Round, Radiation Oncologist
Dr Glenys Round has been at the new Kathleen Kilgour Centre in Tauranga for the last two years. Prior to this she had worked at the Waikato Regional Cancer Centre for 30 years. She has extensive experience in the management of breast and gynaecological malignancies. Her understanding of palliative medicine and the management of breast cancer will make for an informative talk.

Recent Advances in Breast Cancer Surgery - Anupam Modi, Consultant Surgeon
Anupam Modi is a Consultant Surgeon who has been at Rotorua Hospital for the last two years and previously a Consultant in the UK for 14 years. He is speaking on the latest developments in breast cancer surgery so will inform of what is newly being practised.
