We are very grateful to LeRêve (NZ), a direct selling company, for taking part in an Australasian fun run to raise money for BCAC. Forty-five LeRêve (NZ) consultants, staff, friends and family travelled to the Gold Coast to run or walk 5km in the event with their Australian counterparts. The NZ contingent raised more than $8,000 for BCAC which is an awesome result.

The NZ arm of the company has consultants throughout NZ, who run parties in people’s homes to demonstrate LeRêve products to friends and family of the hosts. The company produces a number of ranges – French parfums, aromatherapy, soy candles and skincare.

“The run was loads of fun,” LeRêve (NZ) General Manager Ann Barrar says. “We raised the funds in New Zealand, with people choosing how much they wanted to give.” People dressed up in costumes, with the New Plymouth Team winning the "best dressed" team across both countries’ entrants.

BCAC was chosen as the recipient for the donations because LeRêve (NZ) appreciates the work BCAC does. “Everyone knows someone who has breast cancer. It was very rewarding for LeRêve (NZ) to collect for BCAC. They were all heartfelt donations – people really wanted to help and it was a great response.”

LeRêve (NZ) has had a relationship with BCAC for a long time. “Breast cancer has affected many people’s lives so it’s one of the major charities we support,” Ann says.

BCAC Committee Member Louise Malone says it is fabulous the company gets behind BCAC. “This generosity helps BCAC keep on supporting, informing and representing all New Zealanders with breast cancer.

“Donations from all our supporters and the public help us continue our work to push for the best treatment and care for New Zealanders with breast cancer.”

The fastest time in the run was 28 minutes. Others walked with the longest time 1 hour and 20 minutes. “It was all about taking part, meeting people and helping BCAC,” Ann says. “LeRêve is a family-owned organisation and the event had a great feeling of community as well as contributing to a cause we believe in.”

It was also a celebration because Le LeRêve Australia had its 30th anniversary in November last year, and LeRêve (NZ) celebrated its 25th anniversary in April this year.

LeRêve’s head office is in Australia and every year NZ directors and consultants travel to the annual company conference. The fun run was tied in with the conference, with about 150 Australasians taking part in the run. A fantastic example of collaboration and contribution.
