BCAC Annual General Meeting 2019

Our vibrant committee members and guests came together at our AGM in Auckland in early December to celebrate a year of achievements and to look to the year ahead. In her rousing presentation, BCAC Chair Libby Burgess outlined key milestones achieved, everything we are fighting for and the power of working together.

Libby was re-elected Chair and looks forward to continuing working with BCAC members, sector colleagues and decision makers for positive change.

Patient Voice Aotearoa (PVA) chair Malcolm Mulholland, husband of Metavivor Wiki, gave a poignant and inspirational speech about the need for a total transformation of medicines funding in New Zealand. We wholeheartedly agree and are working together on this important matter with Malcolm and PVA, a coalition of groups spanning multiple diseases and including BCAC.

Malcolm, Wiki, BCAC, medicines petitioners Terre Nicholson and Sue Wall-Cade, and Metavivors NZ, along with our supporters, were instrumental in achieving funding for a number of key medicines for advanced breast cancer this year.
