Busting With Life welcomes breast cancer survivors from across the Auckland region. There are no age restrictions and you do not need to have any previous experience with dragon boating or any other sport. For 22 years and counting, Busting With Life Dragon Boat Team has participated in dragon boat racing to make a difference, to raise awareness of breast cancer and to encourage those living with it to lead full and active lives.

And, while making a difference in the wider community, members have competed locally, nationally and internationally, enjoyed new and sustaining friendships, gained from enhanced fitness and had endless fun. Just think FUN! FITNESS! FABULOUS!

The Auckland Dragon Boat Association are holding Give-it-a-Go days in October and team members from Busting With Life will be on hand to show you the ropes.

On the day

Meet up at 10am at Westhaven Marina, Pier Z, Public Boat Ramp - look for the Dragon Boat flags. You will be checked you off the register, the team captain will introduce themselves and tell you a bit about the team, show you the basics on land, give you a safety briefing then get you in the boats to have a go for about 40 minutes.

What to wear and bring

Depending on the weather, shorts, quick dry tee and jandals, or if colder long sleeve thermals, leggings, water shoes and a beanie. Bring a towel and change of clothes for after, as you'll likely get splashed. Bring water.
