Triple negative breast cancer advocate Catherine Cooke is travelling to Wellington to present her petition to the Health Select Committee and is inviting others to join her on the steps of Parliament to gather in "peaceful solidarity and respectfully ask Ministers and MP’s to meet with us and hear our stories. To understand the reality of being denied access to the global standard of care that is funded in more than 40 countries, yet remains unfunded for many New Zealand women. To ask why do they support the long game of decline instead of funding early intervention global standard medicine."
Afterwards, Catherine would love to invite everyone to join her locally for a drink and a moment of connection to "acknowledge those who could not be there, those we have lost, and those currently facing a diagnosis without access to the treatment they deserve."
Catherine especially welcomes others diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer to stand beside her as she addresses the Health Select Committee at 9am on 22 July 2026. For more information and to contact Catherine, head to her Facebook event.
