The Pink Dragons are a team of dynamic breast cancer survivors, based in Auckland and competing in dragon boat regattas.

Through the 2019-20 season they were fortunate enough to take part in the filming of The Pinkies Are Back. The film follows them on their journey to rebuild their team and introduce lots of strong women to the sport of dragon boating.

The Pinkies Are Back is a heart-warming and hilarious feature film, following a group of extraordinary women on their journey to rebuild a dragon-boating team despite some having never held a paddle before. The bond, love, and laughs between these charismatic larger-than-life Kiwi women is a must-see on cinema screens. Released nationwide on 18 March, a number of other dragon boat teams around the country are hosting fundraising evenings with the movie.

Dragon boating is a great sport for recovering from breast cancer and there's plenty of pink sister teams around NZ too! They hope you’ll love the film as much as they do and really feel the passion they have for paddling!
