BCS Annual General Meeting

When: Monday 3 April 2017, 7pm
Where: Domain Lodge (Auckland Cancer Society), Boyle Cres, Grafton, Auckland

With special guest Relationship and Sex Therapist Verity Thom presenting "How to face the sexual threats presented by health challenges in a way that develops mature, resilient sexual intimacy".

About Verity Thom
Verity is a psychologist in private practice, specialising in relationship and sex therapy. She works with the wide variety of issues and difficulties that people can face around relationships and sexuality. Verity believes it is possible to have a fulfilling intimate life in a long-term relationship and on into older age but it is necessary to learn how to have difficult conversations about things like intimacy, affection and sex.

Health challenges that impact sexuality (e.g. breast, ovarian, testicular or prostate cancers) can have a silver lining because they force us to have those conversations sooner and more urgently. This may not be fun at the time, but can be very rewarding in the longer term. Verity is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society.
