The Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust (WBCRT) are selling hampers packed with locally made products and hosting an outdoor event with family friendly entertainment and an adults only area, hosted by Montana, with wine and beer to enjoy by the lake.

Look Good Feel Better online class for men

 

Look Good Feel Better has run several successful men's online classes to date, and have plenty of space in the upcoming classes. These free classes are for any man, at any stage of their cancer treatment.

The next men's class is Saturday 10th October at 4pm with Tim Tipene.

Tim (Ngāti Kurī, Ngāti Whātua) overcame a violent and abusive childhood, and broke the cycle to become a renowned inspirational speaker. He is the founder of the acclaimed Warrior Kids programme and an award-winning author.

These 1-hour classes are run online, using live video software Zoom. This will enable any man to be able to join the classes, from anywhere in New Zealand, from the safety and comfort of their own home.

The class will still include Look Good Feel Better’s trained facilitator providing practical advice and tips to care for your skin, hair, body and mind as you undergo treatment. The participants will also receive a pack of specially selected donated skincare & toiletry product.

Breast reconstruction information evening

 

Do you want to know more about breast reconstruction and breast cancer? This free event is open to the public and health professionals.

When: Wednesday 21 October 2020, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Where: University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, 85 Park Road, Auckland

Join a specialist team of surgeons and nurses from Counties Manukau DHB to learn about your options for reconstruction. You’ll hear about the different surgeries and the best timing for these, as well as what to expect from your recovery.

Following the presentations, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ invites you for refreshments and to join other participants, their breast nurses and staff from Counties Manukau to ask any questions you may have.

What kind of surgery is right for me? When should I have breast reconstruction? What about my other breast?

This information evening is held on Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) day - an internationally recognised day dedicated to the education and awareness of breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery.

Suitable for women who may wish to consider reconstruction after surgery for breast cancer, and their whanau. Health professionals with a breast cancer interest are also welcome.

BCAC Annual General Meeting
